Setting Up Your New Ebook Website or Blog

These videos were designed for beginners that are looking to establish a web presence for the purpose of marketing their new Ebook (or Book in general) (Be sure to read the notes before you take action):

1.  Choosing a Domain Name (video)

  • Note: When we did the video above, we recommended going to 000Domains for searching for your domain name because of their search tool that makes pretty good alternate recommendations when your first choice isn’t available.  However, DO NOT buy your domain here because they are significantly cheaper at NameCheap (see the video below)

2.  Why You Shouldn’t Use A Free Hosting Account & What To Look For In A Hosting Company (video)

  • Note: In the video above, we are using screen shots from Host4Profits but their monthly hosting is pretty expensive.  I personally recommend Hostgator because you have unlimited everything for less than $10 a month and they have amazing live chat support!

3.  Setting Up Your Hosting Account:

4.  Install WordPress On Your Hosting Account:

5.  Choosing a Theme For Your Site & Installing it:

This is the hardest step in the whole process, in my opinion deciding on the visual aspect of my site is always more time consuming than even the driving traffic step!  So, be prepared to spend some time on this step because the professional presentation of your site will be important to the sale of your Ebook!

  • Note: The theme of your site should reflect your Ebook so plan the design accordingly
  • Note: Once you have the basic theme installed, its your personal creativity that will make the site your own!

Once your site is up and running you are ready to go into the MARKETING phase.  If you need help with marketing, be sure to checkout our Marketing Workshop or grab a copy of “Ebook Marketing On Fire”.
